Helloooo everyone! Welcome back to #alexjostories! Because all of us are in a continuous search for inspiration or you just want to have some time for yourselves I decided to talk to you about what movies I recently watched or what series I recently started. In this way, I will give you my honest opinion about them and maybe you’ll binge watch one of them.
Every night, my housemates and I watch either a movie or an episode from a series just to hang out and relax before the start of another day at Uni. You can’t imagine what happens in this house when we try to decide what should we watch. Sometimes it takes us over an hour to decide what to play and after we finally decide it ‘s too late and we need to go to bed. Haha! Here are some of the movies I recently watched and I enjoyed a lot:
Three Billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri – This movie has been nominated for various awards and has won numerous awards such as the Golden Globe for the Best Screenplay. Trust me, they were completely right when they gave those awards to this movie. It is simply amazing! The movie is an about this single mother who rents three billboards on an unused road to call attention on her daughter’s murder which was unsolved. Her actions provoke good changes in the city but also chaos in some parts. You should definitely watch it. It keeps you on the edge of your seat!
The Post – I guess everyone heard about the amazing newspaper The Washington Post. Well, Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks create an amazing movie by illustrating the true events that led to the rise of the Post as a business. With the ‘help’ of secret information about the American war in Vietnam, The Post as a periodic succeeds in making a move in the American society. I love Meryl Streep as an actress and believe me she didn’t disappoint in this movie. Go watch it!
Phantom Thread – I recently watch this and it was an enjoyable movie. Yeah, the best word to describe this is enjoyable. It’s a movie about a fashion designer that falls in love with a simple woman. The entire movie is about their strong yet really weird relationship. The plot goes back and forth between his passion for the fashion industry, his creations and his love for her, her way of caring for him. At the end of the movie I was like: this is such a strange movie with such a strange subject. You should watch it because it is a good movie and really well done.

The Crown – If you love historical series and the British monarchy, this should be next on your watch list. If you don’t like history series you should also watch this and after you’ll absolutely love it. This series is telling the story of the Queen of England, Queen Elizabeth the II and her personal life. It’s an astonishing serial!
The Good Place – It is absolutely hilarious! It is the funniest and amazing series. The Good Place is about a girl that dies and goes to ‘heaven’ which is like paradise. She wasn’t supposed to be there and the entire action is built around this aspect. When they swear in A Good Place it changes. For example: forking no. It’s the best series to watch with your friends, trust me!
Narcos – I have just started this series and from the first episode I loved it. I will let you know more about it once I watch more, but up till now, it’s a really interesting series concerning with drug dealers in Columbia. Pablo Escobar will definitely want you to watch this!
What would I like to see next?
Lady Bird – a movie nominated at the Oscars about a teenage girl that wants to leave California to study at a college in New York. I have seen the trailer and I think it is a really good and interesting movie.
