Follow me to #Barcelona

Hello everyone and welcome back to #alexjostories!

From the tomato throwing festival ‘La Tomatina’ to the bull races, Spain brings the joy and happiness in the life of everyone that either lives there, either goes just as a simple visitor. A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to be a visitor in the beautiful city Barcelona in Spain. Gabi and I went to Barcelona for a few days at the end of September and it was a really nice break from the England weather. Better, it was a nice break before starting the last year at University.

So, Barcelona is colorful. I think this is the best way to describe the city. Antoni Gaudi changed the entire city by constructing two major architectural jewels such as – The Sagrada Familia (which trust me is breath-taking) and Park Guell (I loved this park. It had some amazing views over the city). The Sagrada Familia is right in the central zone. Once you get out of the car and look up, it completely takes your breath. Unfortunately, the church is still under construction and it will be finished in a few years time, but you can already feel the magic of the building. The details are wow and the story behind each aspect of the church is super interesting. Everything related to the design of the Sagrada Familia is well thought out and it combines perfectly everything that Christianity and Jesus Christ mean for the world. The interior of the church was designed to look like a forest because nature is an important element in religion and in the world.

Park Guell is another place that you should definitely see if you find yourself in Barcelona. Antoni Gaudi designed this Park also. For me, this park was pure happiness. I don’t know how to explain it, but it was really beautiful. The combination of colors and elements in the Park made me think of summer, party, fun times and everything that makes me happy. The entire Park is the perfect blend of nature, colors, and buildings. Go visit Park Guell, it will be worth it! As Antoni Gaudi made a great impact on the architectural side of Barcelona, there are two more things that you need to see while your visiting – Casa Mila and Casa Batllo. I haven’t got the chance to visit them but the outside design is marvelous. You should definitely check them out.

Another thing that I loved while our few days spent in Barcelona was the Magic Fountain. That Magic Fountain is a true spectacle. It starts at 21:30 and lasts for an hour. This time, when we went there was not music, just lights, and the water dancing. Usually, there is music as well. At the end of your trip, you should definitely go there and enjoy the show. Of course, you need to take a walk through the Gothic quarter. When you step into this quarter it seems as you are in another world for a couple of minutes. Also, you can visit the aquarium which is really beautiful.

There are many places to go to in Barcelona and it’s definitely a city where you can have lots of fun.  It would take me hours to talk to you about the city. Whenever you have the opportunity to visit this city, do it. Trust me it is worth it. I don’t know what else to say about this city guys, but I will leave some pictures right here for you to see. Let the pictures speak for me, right?
