Dear Mom and Dad,
This letter is for you. This letter is me thanking you for absolutely everything! Thank you for believing in me. Thank you for all the help with homework and life problems. (Mostly teenage problems! Haha!). Thank you for all the lessons. Thank you for making amazing family memories. Thank you for all the effort to develop me as an individual. Thank you for all the laughs. Thank you for helping me become the one person I really wanted to become. Thank you for letting me be your daughter!
Now, that I am so close to ending another chapter in my life I wanted to let you know about all of this. This part of my life is the moment that I will become independent and I realized that no matter what, you’ll always be there for me. Always by my side. Mom, Dad, I am truly grateful for everything, even if I don’t show it sometimes. You’ve always helped me and always have been right by my side. I wanted to let you know that I can do this. You have given me the one gift that not all the people have. The gift is: to enjoy and cherish life through writing!
Mom, thank you for believing in me. Thank you for that one advice that changed my life completely. “You have something that not all the people have. Develop it because with this talent you can change things and accomplish things that others can’t.” This is the one advice that made me want to chase my dream even more. Dad, I can do it! I want to prove to you that I can do it. I know it’s risky. I am scared too, believe me. But I am really confident about this. Listen to this one thing I will say and think about it: “I want to do this. I want to go to University and study creative writing because I don’t want to live my whole life wondering: how would it have been if I would have done what I really wanted? Would I have been happier? I want to do this because I want to prove to everyone that looks weird at me now when I tell them: I want to study English, American literature, and Creative Writing, that dreams do come true and you can succeed through art. It’s a tough journey but I need you to trust me and come along. I made mistakes before, you know it better than anyone, but I truly feel that this isn’t another one!
I love that you created through your love the most amazing household and the most amazing relationship between us. Maybe I will be gone in autumn but I know one thing guys: I love you. You two are an example for me. As a couple and as individuals as well. I may be though to you or mean sometimes. I may be angry and get all down to you two, but I know deep down that you are the most important people in my life.
I am a dreamer! Yes! I love life! Yes! I am a writer! Yes! I laugh every single day! Yes! You may ask me: so what? My answer will be: Thank you!
This post is dedicated to you, guys! I never get to sensible and write emotional stories and mostly on the internet but you deserve it. Everyone needs to know how amazing you two are!
18 years ago you brought to life a little baby girl. Now that baby girl is thanking you for every single moment of her life and personality. I love you, Mom and Dad. You need to remember that forever!
Love with a drop of happiness,
Your daughter,
Alexandra (AlexJo)
